Packaging and its components which can be made of plastic, cardboard, wood, aluminum, metal, and all types of materials are used to transport and preserve products in terms of quality, maintain its integrity and facilitate its handling operations. Packaging made of fossil origin and especially single-use plastics widely used today has created so far huge waste problem worldwide. This conference is a one-day invitation to discover the latest climate friendly inventions of start-ups from different countries and the progress that has been made in this field including in bio-design, and bio-confection upstream of any new product developed to be put on the market. The various sessions of this one-day conference will provide an overview of recent progression in the field of eco-packaging, including biomaterials and their sustainable components such as bio-inks, as well as emerging solutions for the delivery of products that generate zero waste (no packaging included).
